Setup guide

Put your facts on your own domain. Then check that it works.

Pick the way that fits your website. Most setups take a few minutes, and none of them need your website password. Stuck? Email us and we help you.

Before you start

You need an AI Listing or AI Website. In your dashboard you find:

  • your connection key (starts with caw_) for the WordPress plugin and the Shopify app,
  • your site key and a ready Cloudflare Worker snippet,
  • links to your files: llms.txt, llms-full.txt and schema.json (your structured data),
  • your public fact sheet page at completeaiweb.com/b/your-name.

Keep your connection key private: anyone with it can connect a website to your listing. You can make a new key in your dashboard at any time.

WordPress

  1. Download the plugin and upload it under Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin. Click Activate.
  2. Go to Settings > Complete AI Web, paste your connection key and click Connect.
  3. Wait for the Status box to say “Working”.

The plugin serves /llms.txt and /llms-full.txt, adds your structured data to the page head and adds lines for AI search bots to robots.txt. More on the WordPress plugin page.

Shopify

Our Shopify app is coming soon to the Shopify App Store. When it is live:

  1. Install “Complete AI Web” from the Shopify App Store and paste your connection key.
  2. Go to Online Store > Themes > Customize > App embeds and switch on “AI fact sheet (JSON-LD)”.

Cloudflare

If your domain runs through Cloudflare (the orange cloud is on in your DNS settings), a small Worker serves your files on your own domain, whatever your website is built with.

  1. In Cloudflare, go to Workers & Pages, click Create and start from the “Hello World” Worker. Give it a name, such as ai-listing, and deploy it.
  2. Click Edit code, replace everything with the snippet below and click Deploy. Your dashboard has the same snippet with your own site key already filled in.
  3. Open the Worker's Settings > Domains & Routes and add two routes for your domain: yourdomain.com/llms.txt* and yourdomain.com/llms-full.txt*. If your website uses www, add them for www.yourdomain.com as well.

The routes only match these two files. The rest of your website is not touched.

Wix, Squarespace and other websites

Most site builders, such as Wix and Squarespace, don't let you put your own files at the root of your domain. You have three options:

  • Upload the files if your host allows it. Download llms.txt and llms-full.txt from your dashboard and upload them to the main folder of your website, so they open at yourdomain.com/llms.txt. Upload them again when you change your fact sheet.
  • Add your structured data where your builder lets you add code to the page head. Paste the contents of schema.json inside <script type="application/ld+json"> and </script>.
  • Use Cloudflare in front of your domain (the free plan works) and add the Worker above.

Not sure? Email us with your website address and we look at your setup with you. Your public fact sheet page works whatever you choose: link to it from your website.

Check that it works

  1. Open https://yourdomain.com/llms.txt in your browser. You should see your business name at the top, followed by your facts.
  2. Open https://yourdomain.com/llms-full.txt the same way.
  3. Test your structured data with Google's Rich Results Test or the Schema.org validator: enter your homepage address.
  4. Open your dashboard. The crawler check shows whether AI search bots can reach your website and whether your files are found.

Changed your fact sheet? The WordPress plugin, the Shopify app and the Worker pick up the change by themselves, usually within minutes. Uploaded files you replace by hand.

Connect Claude or ChatGPT to your AI Website

With AI Website you can edit your website by chatting, in the editor in your dashboard or straight from Claude or ChatGPT. Every change goes to the test version first. You push it live when you are happy.

The connector address is:

Claude

  1. In Claude, go to Settings > Connectors and click Add custom connector.
  2. Name it “Complete AI Web”, paste the address above and click Add.
  3. Click Connect and sign in with the email you use for Complete AI Web.

Custom connectors work on every Claude plan. On the free plan you can add one.

ChatGPT

Connectors that can make changes work in ChatGPT Business and Enterprise workspaces with developer mode. A workspace admin switches on developer mode, then you add a custom connector with the address above and sign in. On ChatGPT Plus and Pro this may not be available yet: use the editor in your dashboard or Claude instead.
